Last Sunday, we challenged each other at Oasis Church to continue to pray and remember the people in Haiti who are still in the process of recovering from the earthquakes. We talked about Nancy Brickell, one of our own Oasis Church family, who has been down in Haiti serving with Faith, Hope, Love Infant Rescue… here is a link to more info about what she has been doing…
So, we continued the challenge to be a church who does more then pray… after all, our name is OASIS! Now, praying is the most important thing we can do… asking God to do the impossible is the point of prayer and by turning to Him, we realize it's the only way to grow our faith and trust! But, we can't neglect that God's Word teaches us that we can actively join the work of God through serving and giving time, sweat, food, resources, and yes, MONEY!
So, this Sunday, we are putting our money where our mouth is… and challenging our church to give what we can to help the kids and families involved with Faith, Hope, Love Infant Rescue…
- ALL CASH given this week will go to this group that Nancy has been working with…
- you can put it in an envelope and get it recorded for tax purposes.
- This is over and above your tithe to the church… this falls into generous giving!
- If you don't currently give any money back to God or tithe on a regular basis, I want to encourage you to take a step of faith, ask God how much He wants you to give, and make your first gift part of this cash offering for Haiti!!
Let's be a church that is unafraid to put our money where our mouth is… and trust and worship God more then our wallet!
