Weekend Update

  • we began the month of October this past weekend… Oasis Church is turning 8 months old! Wow!
  • the weather this past week? Simply amazing… looking forward to the fall settling in to our area!
  • was able to finish 95% of the details for the weekend by Friday evening… really trying to make this a habit!
  • by default, I am an amazing procrastinator… I think tomorrow is always a great day to start/ finish the project!
  • Thank God, He's still working on me!
  • Saturday, enjoyed a family day…went to the beach, got the boys some food from Wendy's, and we hit the Target in Yulee…that's a big treat for my family! Hitting Target!
  • Saturday evening, cheered on the Canes as they beat Oklahoma… Boomer Sooner!
  • they are currently 3-1… great start considering they have played the toughest schedule in the nation!
  • Sunday, we kicked off our new teaching series…No Perfect People Allowed!
  • this is more then a series… we are working on setting this in the DNA of Oasis Church…
  • we explored the topic of grace…a free gift given out of love, by God through the work of Jesus on the cross…to a bunch of jacked-up, imperfect, undeserving, dead-in-sins people…wow!
  • Grace really is amazing!
  • Lauren did a great job leading worship and Jenny did an awesome job leading Oasis Kidz in place of Jonathan (who had gone to the Canes game!)
  • after church, had some people over for lunch to discuss a new team we are forming at Oasis… I will blog more on this later
  • the Cowboys played at 4pm…I have a feeling it's going to be a below average, mediocre year…just a feeling I have and I don't like it!
  • On the flip side, the Jags are also 2-2… good for them!
  • On top of that, I went 2-2 on Sunday in my fantasy football teams…so, to quote Bill Parcells, "you are what your record says you are"…. looks like .500 is the magic number!
  • big week coming up as I have a conference on Thursday and we are kicking off TWO connection groups this week… I will update later!
