Phil. 1:12 – 14 And I want you to know, my dear brothers and sisters, that everything that has happened to me here has helped to spread the Good News. ¹³ For everyone here, including the whole palace guard, knows that I am in chains because of Christ. ¹⁴ And because of my imprisonment, most of the believers here have gained confidence and boldly speak God’s message without fear.

• Paul's example to share the Gospel, in spite of tough circumstances (jail), encouraged other followers of Jesus to do the same. Who, in your life, has influenced you because of their example?

• Paul could have been upset by the fact he was under house arrest, but instead he realized God was using it to spread the gospel, to help others follow Jesus. What in your life might be an “obstacle” that God wants to use as an “opportunity” to help others follow Jesus?

• Are we willing for God to use us, in spite of our circumstances?  Or do we tend to get so focused on what is happening to us that we miss out on what God wants to do? How do we change this in our lives?
