- last weekend in May… summer's here in Jax!!
- had a lot of prep to do for the weekend on Saturday…but was able to get it done…
- and still had some great family time…I love being with my wife and kids!
- wrapped up our series on "The Money You Could Be…"
- lovin all the great positive feedback that has been coming out of teaching this series…some people admitted they were nervous about the series…
-hey, I was nervous about it too!
- but the Bible has too much to say to ignore when it comes to the area of our finances…
- talked about spending…which one are you… a saver or a spender??
- I joked about in marriage that God usually puts one with the other…but what about when two spenders get married??
- potential T-R-O-U-B-L-E!
- Had a lot of laughs in the service talking about spending…and found out we have a lot of "dog" people (as opposed to cat lovers) in our church…I knew I loved the peeps coming to Oasis!!
- always prefer to talk about tough subjects with humor…seems to lighten the mood and allows of us to lower our defenses…
- we gave Justin a few weeks off of worship to rest and to get a feel for the overall worship experience at Oasis
- had two guest bands the last two weeks…one led by Josh Lee and the other by Jesse Marks…they each led a preview service before we launched….it was great to have them back with us now that we are up and running!
- Craigslist is a great place to find worship leaders!
- Other things are found on there too…be careful!! Ha!
- looking forward to have Justin back this weekend…woohoo!
- after church, we had our newcomers lunch for the month of May at our house…always fun meeting people and connecting on a deeper level what is happening at Oasis…
- starting to build a team to handle the office type of work needed on a week to week basis…for those who know me, you know how desperately I need this!!
- let's just say, I am weakest on details… I am more of a big picture guy!
- which is why I need to constantly build and work with teams who are gifted where I am not!
- Great weekend by the way… over people more in attendance then the week before… 118!
- always good to bounce back from a lower (holiday) weekend…
- new series starting this weekend… One Prayer… looking forward to it!
